Practical Details and Booking Information

Arrival and Departure and Accommodation
Arrival: We will start the journey in Melrose. We can arrange to collect you from Tweedbank railway station (services every half an hour from Edinburgh Waverley station).
Departure: We will transfer you to Berwick upon Tweed rail station from Holy Island.
Accommodation
We will stay in self-catering accommodation in the Melrose area for the first half of the week, before moving to self-catering accommodation in the area near Berwick upon Tweed for the second half of the week. We will eat our own breakfast and make packed lunches, but eat out in local pubs or restaurants for evening meals.
Payment
To book your place on this pilgrimage, please pay a deposit of 20% of the total cost when you book.
What to Bring
Bring suitable clothes for walking in upland conditions, which can be significantly cooler, wetter and more windy than the 'regular' weather forecast. You will need good comfortable waterproof walking boots and fully waterproof clothing, as we will be walking each stage whatever the weather (challenging weather can be one of the features of pilgrimage walking!) and much of the route does not have many options for shelter. You will need a water supply (bottles or bladder) and a waterproof day bag to carry refreshments and changes of clothes. Walking poles are recommended. We will provide a full kit list when you book for this pilgrimage.
Communication
About a month before the pilgrimage we will arrange an online meeting to update on further details and give you an opportunity to meet your fellow pilgrims in advance.
